Our client had planned major works on the top hinges of the Evergem lock gates.
In order to carry out this work safely, the doors had to be secured both above and below water level.
A specialised engineering office had calculated and dimensioned the anchors and it was up to SUBMAR to install them in accordance with their instructions.
Large anchors were placed through the lock gates and chemically anchored to the wall behind. The lock gates were meticulously propped up with shims to within a millimetre. After the chemical mortar had hardened, the anchors were put under pressure.
After dismantling the top hinges, we were congratulated. The doors had not moved even a fraction of a millimetre!
