We have been invited to demonstrate our cutting capabilities to lift eight piles from the seabed.
The challenge is to cut 140mm diameter lifting holes through a sandwich structure consisting of a 60mm thick steel pipe wall, a 50mm thick water layer and a 70mm thick steel pile wall.
To prove that we could do this, we mounted two steel plates of the right thickness at the right distance apart in our test stand. We then placed our Lifting Hole Cutting Tool in our test tank and cut the lifting holes.
As you can see from the photos, the cut was a success. In less than an hour the hole was cut and the cores removed. From the erosion patterns on the cut cores, we can see that we can increase the cutting speed significantly, perhaps doubling it.
The customer is satisfied. We get to do the job! Enjoy the photos.
