The Corona pandemic did not make things easy for anyone. The draining of the Veurne lock was necessarily delayed due to safety regulations of our authorities. But finally the time had come.The upstream side of the lock had already been sealed off with wooden bulkheads. Now it was the turn of the downstream side. We closed it completely with concrete bulkheads, after which the water was pumped out of the chamber.
There were a lot of people watching us draining the chamber.
In the meantime, the new lock doors were installed. But we will report on that later.
