A major civil engineering company asked us to carry out deep core drillings through a lock floor.
Measurements had shown that it was likely that there was a cavity under the lock floor.
Several core drillings were carried out with a diameter of 150mm and 2 metres deep. And indeed cavities were found under the lock floor.
The cavities were immediately filled with colloidal concrete so that any form of draenage was stopped and the lock could once again function in a completely stable manner.
Shortly afterwards, we went to the Kempen to carry out a series of horizontal drillings in a quay wall to install anchors for friction wood
The drillings were carried out just on the waterline from a cage on a rainy day.
