The Covid pandemic put a spanner in the works, but in the end we were able to witness the Veurne Sas in Nieuwpoort getting its new lock gates.
And we were allowed to inaugurate them by lifting the floodgates one by one and flooding the lock again.
It was a wonderful feeling!
